For the second straight season, Dakota Joshua's contributions to the Vancouver Canucks have been recognized with the Fred J. Hume Award.

The Canucks end-of-season awards were revealed during Fan Appreciation Night on Tuesday, April 16.

The Fred J. Hume Award is given to the player deemed to be the "unsung hero" of the team, and Dakota Joshua's career-best 18 goals and 32 points are enough to earn the honour.

Joshua is also tied for 13th in the league with another career-topping 235 hits. Alongside Teddy Blueger and Connor Garland, Joshua has provided depth scoring and great two-way play on a very effective third line.

While his status with the team beyond this year is uncertain, Joshua has been a huge boost to the Canucks for the last two seasons. It's been discussed that a possible extension could be as high as a $4M cap hit, but the Canucks' challenging cap situation, with multiple contracts coming to an end, may force him out of the team's price range.
