Although GM Mike Grier is open to hearing teams on players such as Mario Ferraro, Anthony Duclair, Mikael Granlund, Mike Hoffman, Alexander Barabanov, Luke Kunin, Marc-Edouard Vlassic, Kaapo Kahkonen, Kevin Labanc, and Jan Ruuta.
The Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs are among the top teams in the hunt for both Mario Ferraro and Luke Kunin.
Ferraro is a 25 year old defenseman with two more years left on his affordable contract and Kunin is a 26 year old forward who is a restricted free agent this summer. According to several reports from insiders, the price to acquire both players would be one first round pick. It's a steep price to pay for a rental forward and depth defenceman, but Ferraro has appeal with term on his contract and could still have some untapped potential.
It is rumored that the Leafs are more likely to move a first round pick for an asset with the term. Both teams could use the offensive and defensive depth, stay tuned ahead of the deadline for updates.
