A prominent NHL insider have stated that the current Oilers era is on the line with the team down 3-2 in the series heading back to Edmonton.

Oilers insider Bob Stauffer feels that if the Oilers do not win game six and are knocked out in the second round for a second year in a row. It's likely the current roster could look vastly different going into next year as doubt will rise over the re signing of Leon Draisaitl.

There have been many rumors and stories written about the possibility of Draisaitl heading to a different team which include the Boston Bruins and the San Jose Sharks. Both teams could use his services as the sharks are rebuilding their franchise and the Bruins are looking to potentially move a goaltender as Jeremy Swayman is due for a big raise and they have a upcoming star in Brandon Bussi.

Draisaitl has been having a solid performance these playoffs and through 10 games, he has scored 8 goals with 13 points for 21 points. Draisaitl has one year left on his deal and the Oilers have the opportunity to sign him to a long term extension.

The Oilers are still sifting through their 3-2 loss in Game 5 and need to buckle down and win Game 6 as the Canucks are looking to close it out in Edmonton.
