NHL insiders have confirmed three Boston Bruins are still regularly being brought up in trade rumours, including goalie Joonas Korpisalo.
The Oilers have yet to address their weak goaltending position this offseason, and certainly will be looking to make a move to bolster the position before the trade deadline. Korpisalo will be a prime candidate to head to Edmonton.
NHL insider addresses Bruins potentially shopping Joonas Korpisalo
As for the NHL trade rumors surrounding Joonas Korpisalo and
Pavel Zacha, Korpisalo's agent told RG last month that rumors that his client had requested a trade from the Bruins were false.
«There is no truth to that; Joonas loves it in Boston,» NHL player agent Markus Lehto replied in an email on July 5 when asked if there was any truth to the rumor that his client had asked out of the Bruins.

Even if Korpisalo hasn't requested a trade out of Boston, the Bruins would likely be looking to move on from him and clear up space from their current $12M goalie tandem. Now 31 years old, Korpisalo is making $4M for the next 3 seasons.
In some past seasons with Columbus, Korpisalo showed promise as a young starting goalie in the NHL, posting a career best year of a .911 save percentage in 37 games. However, since 2020-21 season, Korpisalo has struggled to maintain any consistency and has only twice posted a save percentage above .895.
There would be significant risk in the Oilers acquiring Korpisalo, and especially considering his contract, fitting him onto the roster would be difficult. However, he's one of the few goalie available in the trade market, so the Oilers will have to consider him.
