Sometimes, when you speak out of turn, what you say can come back and embarrass you, as was the case with former-Canuck and Oiler-rival JT Miller.
Lack of hustle costs his team a goal
The video is a classic example of what happens when you don't play with intensity and flop on your assignment: It embarrasses you, and worse, it hurts your team.
You may recall when New York Rangers captain
J.T. Miller made his "No B.S." comment, which the team then adopted, gaining prominence during the Rangers' 2025 training camp. They went so far as to wear T-shirts with the slogan.
When asked about the meaning, Miller said this at the time:
"We want to be a fast, in-your-face type of team...not going to give you [opposition] an easy night".
In short, everything his play in the video wasn't.
JT was a key player in the Vancouver Canucks-Oilers rivalry, which intensified during the 2024 Stanley Cup playoffs.
The competition between Miller's line and the Oilers' top players was often a focal point of their games, especially during their intense 2024 playoff series, which went to a decisive Game 7.
Of course, players are only human and do sometimes make mistakes. Fair enough.
But a team like the Edmonton Oilers, whose season has been lacking intensity and an 'in-your-face style, would do well to adapt the 'no BS' attitude and turn-up its aggression.
We all know that the Oilers are more than capable of playing a playoff-style game. They now have to apply it in the regular season, if they hope to make it past game 82.
