Analyst outlines value for Connor Ingram's next contract with Oilers

Analyst and hockey writer Allan Mitchell recently outlined how he believes Edmonton should approach the team's priority contract extensions.
The Oilers shouldn’t sign anyone to an extension before the end of the team’s season. When the time comes, I would place Connor Ingram at the front of the line, Kapanen next, and then Roslovic. I don’t think there’s any reason to exceed Podkolzin’s deal for any of these men.

Priority signings for Oilers' GM
It seems that The Athletic's analyst Alan is mostly correct when he states that Stan Bowman should wait until the off-season to sign these players, and the order in which they should be signed.
Mitchell is clearly using Vasily Podkolzin as the basis for the other deals, and where the two forwards are concerned, he's correct.
Vasily's new contract begins next season at a cap hit of $2.95M and three-years. This season, he earns a salary of just $1M, a clear bargain.
With Podkolzin's 12G and 23 points over 55 games, including a plus-12, his production is similar to Kapanen's and Roslovic's and both are middle-six guys you can count on to play their roles.
In these three forwards, Edmonton's GM has found value and assets worthy of extending.
Kapanen, a pending-free agent, is currently earning a salary of $1.3M, while Roslovic, also a pending-free agent, earns $1.5M.
Now, Connor Ingram is another matter, in my opinion. Though I agree that a 3-year extension at $2.95M AAV is fair, given how well he's played and in a controversy-filled position, he could very well demand more.
He's gone 6-3-1 in his 11 NHL starts, with a GAA of 2.46 and SV% of .905. If those numbers projected over the remaining games, then his current $1.95M is a steal.
He would have earned quite a bit more than the $2.95M the analyst suggests. Which is why Bowman may want to extend him before his contract expires at the end of this season, when the contract details are still fair for both parties.
