There's no question in the minds of many players and pundits that there are serious issues with how the Edmonton Oilers are designed. The Oilers were considered Stanley Cup favourites last year and this year, with expectations of an easy start to their season.
However, that is far from the truth, and the team has fallen flat on its face. As the 20th game of the season passes, the silly season begins, where fans, pundits, reporters, and anyone who loves the game of hockey begins to craft their trade rumours in the hope of helping the team.
Such a trade rumour certainly fits the silly season category, as this exchange would cause an uproar across the league, leading to questions about its possibility.
As much as the silly season is fun to talk about and speculate, in my view, there's no way I see the Edmonton Oilers parting ways with Connor McDavid unless he flat-out asks for a trade request or walks away in unrestricted free agency.
