This offseason, the Edmonton Oilers made a move to bring in Jeff Jackson as CEO and President of Hockey Operations, likely overseeing the last year of GM Ken Holland's tenure of the team. Jackson already had a connection to the Oilers prior to being hired, as he was the former agent of Connor McDavid and Evan Bouchard. Now as President, he's still showing his supportive side in recent comments to a Spittin' Chiclets Podcast member.
Early in the season while the Oilers were struggling, host and former player Ryan Whitney renounced his rabid fanhood of the team, saying they were officially not playoff contenders. Since then, the Oilers have a record of 20-6-0, and Whitney is lamenting his decision to quit being a fan of the team.
In a hilarious response, Jeff Jackson showed he's dialled into the podcast, made light of the situation, and encouraged Whitney to come back to being an official fan of the Oilers.
