In 2023, great NHL teams need two goalies to survive the regular season and prepare themselves for the playoffs. Tandems have now become popular as the schedules for teams has become increasingly difficult especially doing several back-to-back games.
Stuart Skinner has rapidly improved over the last two weeks and is now the uncontested #1 but has shown signs of buckling under the pressure to perform and playing multiple games together. Calvin Pickard is not the answer long term and barely played 10 games a season with other clubs. Jack Campbell is a train wreck in the AHL and isn't a solution for them whatsoever.
