It's clear that the Edmonton Oilers are trying to find a model of consistency in their game as the season has not gone according to plan.

After a horrible start which led to the dismissal of their head coach, the Oilers have been trying to strike balance in their offense. One player in particular who has juggled the lines his Oilers forward Evander Kane.
He has gone from the talk of the town after legal trouble in California and bursting on the scene in Edmonton with an impressive first impression with 39 points in 43 games with a + 25.
After suffering a gruesome wrist injury Kane has not been the same, and this has spurred discussions on what the Oilers should do but the 32-year-old forward.
Though this chart paint a dim picture of his game I feel however, Kane is having a decent season considering he's one of the top hitters in the league, who is scoring at a 30 even strength goals per season pace and will not have an issue in dropping the gloves in defending his teammates.
It's been known for some time that he has an undisclosed injury that he has been dealing with that has kept him from numerous practices. This doesn't seem to stop him and I feel that $5.1 million per season that those numbers are the ones that count.
With a no movement clause in effect for the next two seasons, Oilers management and their coaching staff have high expectations for Kane as he is a critical part to their offence. I feel he will become stronger and better as the playoffs hunt begins.
