As a result of a change in the front office for the Edmonton Oilers, the off-season will see a lot of changes.

It seemed unlikely that Jeff Jackson would stop shaping the Oilers in his image after the firing of Jay Woodcroft and hiring of Kris Knoblauch.

Ken Holland is in his final season as Edmonton Oilers GM, and is expected to retire or move into another advisory role within the organization.

It seems likely that massive changes will be made in the front office with the new status quo in Edmonton.

After 13 regular-season games, Jeff Jackson fired Jay Woodcroft, which wasn't his preferred way of managing.

Emily confirms what many Oilers fans expected would happen. Holland is done at the end of the year and the Oilers are bracing for more changes after hiring Jeff Jackson. Expect a lot to change at the end of the season.

It appears that Holland didn't want to fire Woodcroft so soon, but he may be nearing the end of his three decades as an NHL executive.

It seems that Jeff Jackson will be making other big decisions in the off-season for the Oilers while he continues his reconstruction of the team.
