Two former Oilers crowned world champions

As Canada heads into its summer months, the world championship is always a nice way to close out the hockey season aside from the Stanley Cup.

Most players who attend the World Championships are from teams that are no longer in the playoffs or never made it to the playoffs. Canada usually has representation because most are NHL players.

Yesterday, Canada won the gold medal against Germany, an unlikely foe since most fans were thinking it was going to be another Canada versus the United States matchup. Two former Edmonton Oilers teammates were on the Canadian team who were Ethan Bear and Milan Lucic.

Lucic played 10 games and had two goals with two assists for four points and four penalty minutes was a + 3 with one game-winning goal. Bear played eight games and did not have any points with four penalty minutes.

Now at the World Championships behind them, these players can sit back and enjoy this victory or they enjoy the sun and get themselves ready for their next season in the NHL.

Up next, is the NHL Entry Draft will be held on June 28th and 29th in Nashville TN.
