Jesse Puljujarvi's time in Oil country is sadly coming to an end, drafted 4th overall in 2016 but has yet to live up to that top-five draft pick potential. He has been involved in trade talks dating back to last years NHL trade deadline, but has not received any interest.
Surprisingly, the Edmonton Oilers are expected to place Puljujarvi on waivers. This comes with Kailer Yamamoto returning to the lineup this weekend, meaning the Oilers are having to make two roster moves, Puljujarvi being one.
Puljujarvi is alongside several other first round, top five draft picks, to be a bust. Puljujarvi is expected to potentially return home to his hometown of Älvkarleby, Sweden, to continue his playing career while being close to family.
