Habs Rookies Family Gets Emotional When Asked About Their Kids NHL Debut

The Montreal Canadiens had a special night in store for 18-year old Owen Beck on Saturday night, when they faced off against the Montreal Canadiens. Beck was drafted 33rd overall in the 2022 NHL entry draft and has since went on to win a gold medal and excel him game in many ways, he received 9 minutes and 48 seconds of ice time during his NHL debut and went pointless.

"Just this month with the two call-ups, 2023 is off to a pretty good start for me,» Said Beck. «It's pretty crazy everything that's happened in the past 365 days. I still feel I haven't had enough time to step back and process it all. It's pretty special and it's something I'll never forget for sure.»

Kyle Bukauskas of Sportsnet tends to interview families who are in attendance for their relatives NHL Debut, and he perfectly did so with the Beck family. The father Dave Beck showed incredible emotion and the mother Tanya Beck gave a great story time, check it out below:

As mentioned above Beck went pointless in his NHL debut, he was on the ice for one goal against and landed himself a blocked shot, but regardless of staying off the score sheet he was very happy.

«I think there was a bit of an adjustment period for me,» Said Beck, «but I don't think it took too long for me to start playing my game again.»

When asked where his confidence level was at following the experience, he said

«It's up there,» before spitting out, «You can't get too high or too low.»

«It's amazing having that kind of trust from an NHL coach and being on the ice with Caufield and Hoffman � two very good NHL players,» Beck continued. «Getting that opportunity raises the confidence a little bit.»
