Regarding a game that occurred in December, during the Battle of Alberta, there was a controversial hit made by Mackenzie Weegar on Connor McDavid.
Upon reviewing the video, it was clear that it was a knee-on-knee collision that went unnoticed by the referees, much to Weegar's advantage.
The two players crossed paths at Saddledome, where McDavid taunted Weegar, who was still a new member of the struggling Calgary Flames squad at the time.
McDavid asked Weegar if he believed it was a knee-on-knee collision, to which Weegar replied, "No one called it, so it was fine.
Besides, you can't pull off those moves," most likely referring to McDavid's exceptional skating skills.
McDavid responded with, "I get paid $12.5 million to make those moves," resulting in Weegar falling silent.
