BREAKING: Edmonton Oilers Announce an Official Signing

The Edmonton Oilers have kicked off their off-season signings by inking defenseman Phil Kemp to a two-year contract extension with an average annual value (AAV) of $775K.

Kemp, 24, showcased his skills with six goals and 21 points in 71 games played for the Bakersfield Condors as a defensemen (AHL) during the past season. He is a right handed shot defensemen that is reportedly going to give Vincent Desharnais a run for his money for the Oilers' third-line d-pairing right defense position.

This signing marks the first step for the Oilers, who still have several contracts to address, including those of Klim Kostin, Ryan McLeod, Nick Bjugstad, Mattias Janmark, Derek Ryan, and Devin Shore. The team aims to secure their core players and build a strong roster for the upcoming season.
