Over the years, the Edmonton Oilers were blessed with many great talents who have played for the city and its fan base. With the greats of Wayne Gretzky, Jari Kurri, and Mark Messier all of the 1980s through the Taylor Hall era and now with the Connor McDavid Ann Leon Draisaitl.

Nhl.com has brought a new segment called 60 Diamonds, the greatest picks of the 60 NHL drafts. They decide to nominate one player in a certain level of pics and two Edmonton Oilers cut picks 51 through 60.

Glenn Anderson, one of the key members of the Oilers Cup runs in the 1980s made it to number 57. He began with the Oilers in 1980 and ran through till 1991.

He was a prolific scorer and playmaker for the Oilers in which he had multiple 100-point seasons. His total with the Oilers was 417 goals, and 489 assists for 906 points. He had 183 playoff points along with 126 power-play goals which are the most in franchise history.

Not to mention the five Stanley Cups he won.

The other icon of the Oilers was the goaltender, Grant Fuhr. He came in at #51. Fuhr's career began in 1981 with the Oilers and finished his tenure with the team in 1991 where he was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a staple for the Oilers in net and gave the Oilers the goaltending needed during a time when goal-scoring was through the roof.

It's good to see those players recognized and brought into this new segment. Many more Oilers will likely be shown in this as they should be recognized for their accomplishments.
