In tonight's game between the Carolina Hurricanes and a Chicago Blackhawks, a rivalry has begun growing between goaltender Spencer Martin and Connor Bedard. Their feud began with Hurricanes defender Dmitry Orlov shoving Bedard into the net and colliding with Martin, and Martin was clearly upset by it.

After the period was over, Martin skates over to Bedard and gives him a shoulder shove. Bedard responded instantly, looking incensed by the shove, and gave Martin a slash against the pads and some chirps.

After that, Bedard scored a goal against Martin and hit him with a cool stare-down. Unfortunately, the goal was overturned due to an offside.

It's incredible to see Bedard play with this level of passion and intensity in his rookie year, and to see him not back down from the personal battles that can occur in the NHL. Already back weeks early from jaw surgery, the bubbled-up Bedard is well on his way to securing a unanimous Calder Trophy this year.
