Tocchet on being in Nashville: 'sometimes it's nice to be the villain'

The Vancouver Canucks will head into Game 3 on Friday night with the series tied at one game a piece. Nashville isn't an easy place to play, especially in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

With that in mind, Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet is expecting himself and his team to get a loud, but not positive, reaction from the fans in attendance. He also said that he loves getting booed and that it's nice to be the villain.


It's going to be tough for the Canucks in Nashville tomorrow night and on Sunday and in a perfect world, they would like to come away with two wins and have an opportunity to wrap up the series in Vancouver for Game 5. But with Thatcher Demko injured and him being a big part of the roster, if the Canucks are able to split Games 3 and 4 and come home to Vancouver with the series tied up at 2-2, that will likely satisfy the coaching staff.


The last time the Canucks and Predators met in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, in 2011, Vancouver won all three games at Bridgestone Arena including the series-clinching victory in Game 6.

It'll be interesting to see how the Canucks play on the road in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, something the majority of the roster haven't done in their career yet. Puck drop is set for 4:30 p.m. PT/7:30 p.m. ET tomorrow night on Sportsnet.
