Edmonton Oilers legend and NHL great Wayne Gretzky is filing a $10M lawsuit against his former business partner Veera Mahajan for actions surrounding their OMG weight loss gum product.

Gretzky has been in the news frequently as of late as Alexander Ovechkin chases down the final 10 goals of his NHL career scoring record of 894.

Wayne Gretzky filing lawsuit against former business partner for baseless allegations

Wayne Gretzky gave a testimonial to the OMG Weight loss gum product, saying it helped him lose 35 pounds. His wife Janet Gretzky also worked as a spokesperson for the company.
According to new reports from TMZ, Mahajan invested in the product after the testimonial, and then in 2022, filed a lawsuit against Gretzky for a fraudulent testimonial, and seeking a major payout.
Gretzky fought the lawsuit, Mahajan filed to dismiss the case, and claimed his former business partner was using him for a quick payout with the litigation. Now, Wayne Greyzky himself is filing a new lawsuit against Mahajan for her legal action against him.
The NHL legend filed the suit in Los Angeles County this week -- some three years after Veera Mahajan sued him for his alleged role in the demise of a weight loss gum business called "OMG."

Gretzky said he never lied about losing the weight -- and he contended he was certainly not the reason the business failed. He's alleging Mahajan only filed the case because she assumed Gretzky would settle "for millions in order to avoid potential negative publicity."

Gretzky isn't in the clear with litigation against him for the weight loss product either. He's still facing a lawsuit from OMG Gum founder Steven Sparks. All the while, he continues his TV analyst positions with NHL on TNT.
Hopefully the Great One can get through this series lawsuits fine and keep up his positions around the NHL.
