Trade talks heating up to send Evander Kane to Edmonton Oilers' biggest rival

The Vancouver Canucks look headed to a total rebuild in the near future, which will involve selling off all their veteran players - including former Oiler Evander Kane.
Reports emerged just a few weeks ago that the Canucks actually tried to «peddle back» Evander Kane to the Oilers, but Edmonton wasn't interested in a reunion. For good reason too - Kane has taken a turn for the worse in his age 34 this season.

Even though this tough season, there's one GM who clearly still believes in Evander Kane: former Oilers manager Ken Holland.
According to a new report from Kings insiders at the Mayor's Manor, Ken Holland has been kicking tires on Evander Kane in trade.
Over the past week, two separate sources told Mayor's Manor they believe Kings general manager Ken Holland is exploring the possibility of a Kane trade.

Canucks insiders also confirm the possibility of a Kane trade, adding that Vancouver is willing to retain a portion of Kane's $5.125M contract in its final season to get more of a return.
The Oilers only got a 4th round pick for Kane when they traded him to Vancouver, and given his play with the Canucks this season, he'd likely fetch even less in a trade now.
Ken Holland famously has been prone to overpaying for players in trade, («Did you want me to get him for free?») and has already added a former Oiler with Corey Perry. He may be the only GM interested in Kane this year.
It's very possible that Holland brings in Kane to help the Kings push for the playoffs, and potentially even take on the Oilers again.
Now that there's a taker for Kane, expect to see him moved by the Canucks before the trade deadline.
