Now a bona-fide NHL superstar, Draisaitl heading back to his hometown has to be a special moment for every young player in attendance. Receiving this visit from Draisaitl, some equipment, and some encouragement - these kids will take up the game with great enthusiasm.
Hockey in Germany has been a much more minor sport compared to nearby countries like Finland and Sweden, but with the emergence of stars like Draisaitl and
Tim Stutzle, there will be more energy around the sport. Draisaitl's visit will continue to reinforce it.
It's amazing to have an international superstar like Draisaitl on the Oilers, bringing more fans to the game from all over the world - and hopefully also making them Edmonton fans.
