The Oilers took to social media to announce the contract themselves, as Carfagna signed the deal at home in Ohio State.
Carfagna's two year contract will begin next season, and the Edmonton Oilers did not clarify his annual salary.

Now 22 years old, Carfagna has played the last two season with Ohio State and this season took a significant step forward. In 38 games, the defenceman scored 7 goals and 28 points.
Looking at some short clips of Carfagna, his skating ability and offensive awareness are clearly among his attractive skills.
The one concern with Carfagna may be his smaller statue for an NHL blueliner. The 22 year old is measured at 6 feet tall and 185 pounds.
Oilers insider Bob Stauffer mentioned that it may represent a philosophy shift toward smart players that can move the puck. The Oilers are clearly trying to get more skilled instead of prioritizing toughness.
It's great news that the Oilers are able to bring in another promising prospect as their current system is heavily depleted after years of contending. Hopefully this is the first of many more prospects the Oilers can add.
