The NHL has officially announced the entire schedule for the upcoming 2025-26 season, giving the Edmonton Oilers a first look at another long road ahead to the playoffs.
NHL announces full schedule for 2025-26 season
The Edmonton Oilers season will begin October 8th with a home game against the Calgary Flames, setting off a long 82 campaign back to the playoffs with a rivalry game.
The Oilers will begin next season with tons of road travel in the first half, playing only 8 times at home in their first 24 games. Two different road trips of 5 and 7 games in the first quarter of the season could be a challenge for the Oilers.
The flip side is the Oilers will get plenty of home games down the stretch of the season, playing 10 of their last 15 in Edmonton. That should be beneficial for resting players just before another playoff run.
Edmonton's two rematches against the Florida Panthers will come once at tail end of a long road trip, and once on home ice on March 19th.
The NHL has also released a number of important dates alongside the schedule that will impact all teams. All 32 teams will play on October 11th, October 28th will see a revival of the Frozen Frenzy, and the NHL will break from February 6-20th for the Olympics.
Now with a look at the road ahead of another 82 game grind, the Oilers can begin to plan their path back to the Stanley Cup Final for a third time in a row.
