NHL agrees to massive new broadcast deal with Rogers
The NHL has reached an agreement with Rogers Communications on a new 12-year Canadian TV deal that will pay the league about $7.7 billion ($11 billion CAD), according to multiple people familiar with the details.
The league's media and executive committees have recommended that owners approve the deal in a vote in the coming days, said the people, who were granted anonymity because the details are private. Should that happen, it could be announced as early as this week. The deal will kick in for the 2026-27 season.

This is a massive deal with will keep most of Canadian hockey on Sportsnet. Most games have been on Sportsnet for well over ten years now, and instead of TSN, Amazon, or someone else making a play - hockey will remain on Sportsnet for the foreseeable future.
What the NHL's Broadcast deal means for Edmonton Oilers
Sportsnet maintaining the broadcast rights will be good news for Oilers fans who've grown to get behind their broadcasters - like the electric play by play man Jack Michaels. This deal will make sure Michaels is on the mic for as long as he wants to be.
Fans will now know where to catch the next decade and more of Edmonton Oilers hockey.
