Shattenkirk is now 35 years old, and played his last season with the Boston Bruins, scoring 24 points in 61 games. The puck moving right shot defender played for 7 different teams in his 952 career games before retiring yesterday.
Edmonton Oilers asked about signing Kevin Shattenkirk Just Before Retirement
It's extremely interesting to hear the Oilers asked about signing Shattenkirk as late as November this year.
Edmonton seems keen to upgrade on their 7th defenceman right now for a cheap price, and they may have done so with today's waiver claim on
Alec Regula - which again, isn't a good sign for Dermott.
Hockey fans will wish all the best to Shattenkirk in his retirement from the game, and his next chapter in life.
