Edmonton media members toss shocking insult towards Oilers fan

The Edmonton Oilers media and fans have often had a contentious relationship, exemplified by a recent comments from Oilers insiders Jim Matheson and Ryan Rishaug.
Just about everyone who's been involved with the Oilers has had a moment of tension with the media, especially the players. Kevin Bieksa once went off on Edmonton media as the some of the worst in the NHL, and today, they're living up to it.
Oilers insiders call fans morons after debate about goaltending
Right now, goaltending is kind of a touchy subject in Edmonton. Plenty of fans want to see a real upgrade in net, but media and the team often defend the Skinner and Pickard tandem as fantastic.
One Oilers fan was discussing the rise of Lukas Dostal, praising him for turning into an incredible goalie and surpassing Skinner and Pickard. That set off Matheson, referring to fans as «you people», and Rishaug jumped in to call the fan a moron.
More than a few Oilers fans jumped in to defend the first fan, and call out Rishaug and Matheson.
On the point of the Anaheim goaltender - the Oilers fan is right. Dostal's raw numbers aren't great by virtue of the Ducks' subpar defensive environment, but the 26 year old goalie ranked 16th in the NHL by Goals Saved Above Expected according to MoneyPuck. He's a quality young goaltender.
For the Oilers media to get outright so combative in their defence of Skinner to call fans morons for pointing out another solid goalie is just ridiculous. Not only is it deeply unprofessional, it's also just plain wrong, and there's supposed to be the «experts». Oilers fans are among the smartest in all of hockey, and can call BS when they see it.
From the media who asked Draisaitl if he's pissy and continues to believe Nurse is top NHL defenceman, this was another low moment.
