Ex-Oiler Happily Gets His NHL Career Saved by Signing
Khaira Finds a New Home with the Minnesota Wild
Jujhar Khaira's journey in the NHL has been one of steady progress. Drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the third round of the 2012 Entry Draft, he's certainly come a long way since then, and his recent move to the Minnesota Wild marks another chapter in his career.
Khaira spent six years with the Edmonton Oilers, and his standout season came in 2017-2018 when he played 69 games, notching 11 goals and 10 assists for a total of 21 points while racking up 47 penalty minutes.
In his last two seasons, Khaira donned the Chicago Blackhawks jersey, with his highest point total being 14 points in the previous season, where he played 51 games and contributed six goals and eight assists.
Now, it seems he's found a new home with the Minnesota Wild.
Khaira has inked a fresh one-year deal, a two-way contract that offers him $775,000 at the NHL level and $300,000 at the AHL level. He's the kind of player who adds depth to your bottom six, and with over eight years of NHL experience under his belt, he brings valuable assets to the Wild, especially in handling injuries.
With NHL training camp kicking off later this week, teams are gearing up for the upcoming season, with most camps set to open by Friday, September 22nd.
