The Vegas Golden Knights have developed a reputation for being one of the NHL's consistently best teams, but there's some signs of cracks in their armour this playoffs.
Two major weaknesses emerging from Vegas Golden Knights
NHL analyst Kevin Woodley joined Sports1440 today and revealed his private analytics data that showed a number of factors that heavily favour the Oilers.
Darcy Kuemper faced the most high-danger scoring changes in the first round, a great sign for the Oilers offence. Vegas Goalie
Adin Hill faced only a little less, and gave up a lot more goals against.
Not only then is the Oilers offence thriving, Vegas's defence isn't producing the dominant results they used to. They still have a daunting group with
Noah Hanifin on the third pair, but top defender Pietrangelo has begun to lose a step.
So far in the playoffs, Adin Hill has a very low .880 save percentage. That won't be a number he'll be able to sustain and also beat the Edmonton Oilers with.
In addition, Woodley was able to reveal some specifics on the weakness of Adin Hill. His high glove side is a blind spot, and he gives up more than average on rush chances and rebounds. There's plenty of opportunities for the Oilers to exploit.
If the Vegas Golden Knights continue these trends in their game, the Oilers may be able to finally nab a series win against their divisional rival, and take another step toward getting back to the Cup Final.
