It seems that former-Oilers' goalie Stuart Skinner is fast becoming a fan-favourite in Pittsburgh, helped by his recent three-game winning streak.

Goalie battles from early losses

Skinner's first-three games in Pittsburgh after being traded on December 12 were losses, compiling an .831 SV%.
In his debut with the Penguins against his old team, Skinner allowed five goals on just 22 shots.
He then recorded a combined 7G on 42 shots over his next two starts, giving him an .813 SV% to begin his Penguins career.
This was concerning, given his play in Edmonton had resulted in being chased from the city where he'd played just shy of six years.
It's a harsh thing to say, but it was his reality at the time.
Since then, however, Skinner has won three consecutive games in spectacular fashion, no less, posting an .957 SV% and a 1.00 GAA.
That is something that Oilers' fans have come to know about Stuart; when he gets on a heater, he's as good as anybody in the game, and often even better.
So, which version of Skinner does Pittsburgh have? Well, likely the good and the bad. Consistency has been his number-one concern.
Looking at the good, Skinner has given-up only three goals on a combined 66 shots during his latest win-streak, helping the Pens reach the top wild-card position in the Eastern Conference.
To look at the 27-year old's stats on the season as a whole, he currently holds a record a 14-11-4 overall record, a 2.77 GAA and an .892 SV% over 29 games between Edmonton and Pittsburgh this season.
He seems to be headed in the right direction with Pittsburgh.
NHL insider Josh Yohe had this to offer about Stuart Skinner.
«Speaking of goaltenders, Stuart Skinner has become an instant sensation in the locker room. Everyone loves this guy.»

And it's not only his teammates. Just like in Edmonton, chants 'STUUUU!' sound from the fans after each of the veteran netminder's 28 saves as he led the Penguins to a 4-1 win against New Jersey, according to King Jemison of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

We, Oilers' fans know about that too.
