Stuart Skinner delivers gutsy message before Oilers game vs Chicago

Edmonton goaltender Stuart Skinner is making a gutsy statement that the Oilers are totally fine despite their slow start.
There's always a risk of making major declarations like this in sports. Skinner had previously declared himself as reaching a «new floor» recently, and then posted consecutive games under a .900 save percentage. He'll need to back up his words.

Speaking to the media today, Skinner issued a bold declaration that despite their mediocre record so far this year, the Oilers - and himself personally - are in a good place,
«I've been doing a good job, and I've been getting better every day. So yeah, I feel really good in how I've been playing, and I feel really good about how we've all been playing, to be honest. Sometimes wins and losses don't tell you exactly how you're playing. I think the guys are doing a great job.
They're battling, they're fighting, they're doing everything they can to get into shooting lanes. We are sacrificing ourselves to win games, and we just have to do that for a whole game, and we're going to do that tonight.»

The Oilers being in a fine position is certainly debatable at this point of the season. With a record near .500, multiple blown leads resulting in losses, and still struggling to find their offence, the Oilers have plenty of questions.
And Stuart Skinner himself is still on the clock from Oilers management. He's yet to find his consistency this season, and could be shipped out for an upgrade in trade by the deadline.
Hopefully the Oilers can live up to Skinner's assessment, and reach their full potential quickly this year.
