Oilers organization makes goalie roster move for Connor Ingram's arrival

The Edmonton Oilers organization is making a roster move to prepare for Connor Ingram to begin playing AHL games.

The Oilers acquired Ingram from the Utah Mammoth on October 1st. Ingram hadn't attended training camp with the Mammoth while the team worked to find him a fresh start, so it was expected that he'd be behind schedule in ramping up to play.

Connor Ingram appears ready to take the net for AHL Bakersfield Condors

The Oilers' AHL affiliate Condors have made the roster move to send down Nathaniel Day to the ECHL, officially making room for Ingram to be activated and get into the starter's net.

Condors reporter Ryan Holt has also confirmed Ingram will play his first games this weekend.

Ingram has been practicing with the AHL squad, but hasn't seen game action in 8 months. He'll need some time to get back to form, and prove that he's better than his brutal .882 save percentage last year.

When will Connor Ingram be called up to the Edmonton Oilers?

Oilers analysts believe the organization wants Ingram to get into at least 10 AHL games before seeing a call up to the NHL. Assuming he doesn't start in back-to-back matchups, Ingram would be in line to earn 10 starts by November 29th.

This is a goalie who posted an impressive .907 save percentage in 50 games just 2 years ago. If he can find his form again, he could become a new tandem option for Edmonton and challenge Skinner for the starting role.

Oilers fans will be closely tracking Ingram's record through the next 2 months of AHL play.
