While being interviewed by the media, Oilers' goalie Stuart Skinner was asked a question to which fans across the league have taken exception.
Media catches goalie off-guard with odd question
MATHESON: The fan wants - every time you turn around they want another goalie. Don't want you. I mean, that must hurt.
SKINNER: Yeah. That's happened a lot here, no? No I was there for that. I felt bad for him. That's happened a few times here.

It's easy to forget that behind the masks and equipment are human beings with real human emotions. We get caught-up in the games, justifying that athletes are paid to withstand the pressures, and it's all true.
Yet, though it's a business, hockey is also just a game. And fans are reminding Skinner with their reactions to the Matheson question, that despite all the noise this season surrounding him, the question was uncalled for.
Skinner is having a bad season in goal, to put it mildly, and is on the verge of being traded away from Edmonton - he understands this as a professional.
Fans, however, are taking the time to remind the Oilers' goalie that he is not hated in Edmonton, and that lines should not be crossed by the media, as the following post reveals.
Of course, where the Oilers' season is concerned, it would only take a winning streak and strong goaltending by Skinner to flip the script, as they say, for him to be in the city's good graces.
It's just the way it is in pro sports.
