Speaking to the media following Edmonton's 4-3 win over Vegas last night, coach Knoblauch praised goalie Connor Ingram for his quality start.

Goaltender's 1st start since taking personal leave

Hasn't played an NHL game in almost a year...We knew he was a quality goalie. One year he played 50 games, a save percentage of over .900 [.907, .291GAA with Arizona].

He's very calming, he's square to the puck, minimal movement. Tonight he played really well.

Though it was only one game, and his first in a while, Ingram answered a lot of questions with his win last night. The biggest positive, however, was that he did not look out of place.
The path back to an NHL-net for Ingram has been long and arduous, some of it in his control, but most of it not.
When he was traded to Edmonton from Utah on October 1st, the goal situation was precarious at best, with Skinner and Pickard being at the center of so much controversy and doubt.
Fact still remains that Ingram was called-up in the midst of more goalie controversy and doubt, with the tandem now being Ingram and Pickard, and the starting-goalie for whom they traded is injured three games into his tenure.
Yet, with his play against Vegas, Ingram alleviated some of that doubt and showed why Stan Bowman traded for him.
He stopped 26 shots and made some big saves, while not having much of a chance on the goals against him.
In his Oilers' debut, he gave his team the opportunity to get off to a 4-0 lead and held the goal the rest of the way.
It was a good night for the Connor Ingram, one fans were happy to witness for the win and for the comeback.
