Oilers analysts share update on Jake Walman injury after setback
The Edmonton Oilers are finally turning their season around, and they'll get another huge boost soon with the return of Jake Walman.
Walman has been absent with an undisclosed injury after taking two stingers in the Oilers' last game against the Tampa Bay Lightning. He was initially ruled day to day, but has now missed 6 games.
Jake Walman expected to return from injury next game
Walman was clearly bearing a comeback as he joined the Oilers for practice earlier this week, but since then he's missed another practice and another game. It appears he suffered a setback, or the Oilers are being cautious.
Oilers analysts at the Hockey Writers believe Walman should return for their next game against the Buffalo Sabres.
Walman's return seems imminent, but it seems as though the Oilers are willing to be patient with him and don't want him to rush back and risk injuring himself again.
The expectation is that Walman will be ready to return on Tuesday (Dec. 9) when the Oilers face the Buffalo Sabres.

The extra time off in between games should be beneficial for Walman, and the Oilers are right to be cautious with this injury.
Since Walman's joined the Oilers, he's missed some significant time with injury. He was knocked out for a while after joining the team post-trade deadline, and he's missed a total of 12 games this season with injury already.
He's a key piece to their blueline that significantly elevates the second pairing when he's healthy. The Oilers need Walman in the lineup and at 100% to be at their best.
Hopefully he'll be cleared from injury on Tuesday, but until he's participated in at least one full practice - Oilers fans shouldn't get their hopes up for him returning yet.
