Since joining the New Jersey Devils, ex-Oilers' grinder Connor Brown has given his team a much-needed boost of secondary production.

With his assist against the Buffalo Sabres on Nov. 28, Brown is scoring at a point-per-game over his last three.

Gritty forward heating-up in the East

The assist brings Brown's total on the season to 9 points in 18 games with the Devils, of which 6 have been goals, despite missing seven games with an upper-body injury he sustained at the end of October.
And he's doing this playing on the third, or fourth-lines, including some time of the penalty kill.
Connor Brown joined the Devils on the off-season, signing a four-year, $12M deal in free agency, ending his tenure with the Oilers, where over 153 games he posted 17G and 42 points.
Whether the Oilers should have re-signed Brown is a matter of debate, though he did provide his old team with much needed physicality and grit, which the Oilers are lacking this season.
Last year with Edmonton, Connor scored 13 goals; this year, he's on a 27-goal pace over 82 games, something his former-team could have used.
Over the last few games, Edmonton seems to be picking-up its game with better defense and well-timed scoring by the usual suspects of McDavid, Draisaitl, RNH, and Hyman.
In their 6-3 win over the Panthers, it was the secondary scorers that did most of the damage, with Roslovic netting two and Savoie one.
When the Oilers are getting goals from both primary and secondary options, they are difficult to beat.
When their defense and goalie is at their level-best, then you have a Stanley Cup contender.
