Five most likely Edmonton Oilers' trade assets revealed

A recent social media post has revealed the five Edmonton Oilers' players likely to be traded before, or at next season's trade-deadline.
The first of these, though he does have a not-movement-clause, is Adam Henrique, whose salary pretty much makes him the favourite to be moved. Adam had his worst season production-wise in 2024-25, and his $3M cap hit can be put to better use for a cap-strapped Oilers' club.
Set to make a Stanley Cup push, Oilers will need help for the playoffs at trade-deadline
Though he is one of the top Oilers' prospects, defenseman Beau Akey is a valuable trade-piece. His development was slowed after missing the entire 2023-24 season, and will be better suited for a rebuilding team that can be patient while skilled blueliner develops into a full-time NHL player.
Brett Kulak is a pending-UFA, and though he's been one of Edmonton's most-consistent players the last two years, his $2.75M cap hit, which will likely increase on his next contract, prices him into a potential trade next season.
Given Mattias Janmark's limited offensive skills and last year's poor production, his role on the team will likely go to one of the younger forwards competing at this month's training camp.
Mattias will most likely be a throw-in to sweeten any potential, future-trades.
Edmonton had traded its last-four 1st-round draft picks in order to improve the team's playoff chances, and will probably do the same this year as Edmonton's Cup-window grows shorter.
Given the team's playoff success of late, the strategy seems to be working, but they must win a Stanley Cup soon, or they'll have traded away their future assets, and its ability to remain a contender.
