Family of former Oiler Colby Cave will make one more heartfelt appearance

Back in 2020, the Edmonton Oilers lost a dear member of their organization, forward Colby Cave. While fans around the league continue to remember him, his wife, Emily Cave, made the heartfelt announcement that she will be returning to Bakersfield in his honour.
April 2020 was a moment in history hockey fans will never forget. Colby Cave, a talented young hockey player for the Edmonton Oilers suddenly passed away due to a brain bleed -- he was only 25 years old.
Colby Cave's wife will return to Bakersfield where he scored final goal
When the news first broke, Emily Cave made an official statement, sharing with fans worldwide the depth of her struggle.

"It is with great sadness to share the news that our Colby Cave passed away this morning," the statement said. "Both our families are in shock but know our Colby was loved dearly by us, his family and friends, the entire hockey community and many more. We thank everyone for their prayers during this difficult time."
Indeed, it was a horrific tragedy that broke hearts across Oil Country.
Emily Cave makes triumphant return to Bakersfield
Recently, Emily Cave surprised hockey fans, announcing that she will be returning to Bakersfield for the first time in over 5 years in his honour.

Bakersfield, see you on the 26th. 🧡💙 I have not been back to since Colb died. His last hockey game, his last goal were there. This photo. His last few weeks alive and moments together were in Bako. A lot of emotions going back, 5 years later, but I couldn't be more excited.
Colby Cave was an exciting prospect, quickly rising the ranks to be a full-time NHL player.
While he spent a significant time on the Oilers farm affiliate in Bakersfield, he still played a big role in the team's success success during that period.
I think I speak for everyone when I saw that we're all proud of Emily Cave, and all of us in Oil Country will be cheering her on from the sidelines.
