The NHL cleared Utah goaltender Connor Ingram on Wednesday to play in the upcoming 2025-26 season, following completion of the NHL/NHLPA Player Assistance Program.

Connor had entered the assistance program following the death of mother in December of breast cancer.
"At this point in my life, I need to put my health first and (to) take the proper time I need away to come back at 100 per cent," said Ingram in a social media post on March 9.

Connor returns to the Utah lineup hoping to earn a role as the team's backup goalie, competing with Karel Vejmelka, who posted a record of 9-6-3 in 18 games played, after Ingram vacated his net for the reasons mentioned.
Connor is a very capable goaltender, with the potential to start in the league. After joining the Coyotes organization in the 2022 offseason, he emerged as the team's starting goalie for the 2023-24 season, and won the Masterton Trophy for 'the player who best exemplifies the quality of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to ice hockey.'
The year Ingram won the Masterton, he recorded 23 wins and a 2.91 GAA, and .907 SV%, demonstrating his ability to regroup and adjust to the high level of competition.
Related to the news of Connor Ingram's return, of course, is the possibility that he may be waived by the Utah Mammoth, should the team deem him expendable.
Given the Oilers' search for stability in goal, it would be incumbent on GM Stan Bowman to explore his options. With training camp set to begin in a few weeks, a phone call to Utah GM Bill Armstrong may be in order.
Here at Oilers Daily, we'd like to wish Connor all the best on his return back to action.
