The Edmonton Oilers are back on the ice for morning skate before tonight's game against the Calgary Flames, and have confirmed some minor line changes.
It's the Oilers final game before the Christmas break, and finishing off in a Battle of Alberta rivalry is a great treat for fans. The Oilers will be trying to get 2 things rolling before the break, given their lineup.
Connor Ingram will start, Trent Frederic draws back in to Oilers lineup vs. Flames
According to Oilers insider Bob Stauffer at practice, the team is expected to deploy the following lineup tonight.
The top six forward lines will remain intact, with the classic top line firing on all cylinders and Jack Roslovic back with Leon Draisaitl and Vasily Podkolzin, a lethal trio early this year.
Adam Henrique remains centring the third line with Mangiapane and Savoie. Trent Frederic will draw back into the lineup as the 4th line centre after being scratched last game. He'll play with Max Jones and Mattias Janmark on the wings.
Connor Ingram will be given a second chance after a strong performance against Vegas. It's the right call to keep him rolling, and trying to get back into a rhythm at the NHL level.
It'd be nice for the Oilers to enter the Christmas break on a roll with a couple good wins, and another solid performance from Ingram. Even Frederic has a chance to respond to the scratch before the holidays.
The Oilers lineup is starting to come together and looking more like a cup-contender again.
If they can keep this momentum going beyond the break, they'll be close to the lead in the Pacific Division.
