Edmonton mocks Vegas one more time after Oilers playoff series win
The Edmonton Oilers finished off their playoff series win over the Vegas Golden Knights in 6 games, and continued a new act of trolling the city of Vegas.
Vegas and Edmonton residents have put up duelling billboards in the last week taunting the fans of each team in their city, but now Edmonton got the last laugh.
Edmonton taunts Vegas one last time after playoff series win
The taunts began after Game 3, where Reilly Smith scored a heartbreaker goal to win the game for Vegas with 0.04 seconds left on the clock.
A Vegas bar and restaurant took the opportunity to taunt Oilers fans, buying 165 billboards in the city of Edmonton displaying the 0.04 number and a Go Knights Go message.
Oilers fans fired back right away after their win in Game 4, constructing their own billboards in Vegas to taunt their fans back.
Edmonton fans initially installed billboards in Vegas mocking Golden Knights fans with the 3-1 series score.
Vegas fans got burned pretty badly for putting up billboards mocking the Oilers for only one playoff win.
The Oilers then came into their home barn to end the series in 5 games, and then Oilers fans comfortably and rightfully got the last laugh with even more billboards trolling fans outside T-Mobile Arena. The new mobile billboards following fans said «0.04 seconds. 165 billboards. Just 4-1 win?»
The Oilers series win over Vegas is a major relief and a payback for their tough loss back in the 2023 playoffs. Connor McDavid himself personally said that the Oilers owed the Golden Knights a good series - and they definitely delivered.
Now, the rivalry matchup of the Vegas Golden Knights are behind the Oilers, and they'll have a tough matchup against any team in the third round.
