Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse spoke to the media after their 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames to which he called them out, saying the team does not have any toughness.

His comment drew some laughter amongst the reporters well he had a smirk on his face as many through the NHL feel that the Oilers lack the toughness and physicality in their game over the course of the season.

Oilers still regrouping after loss of goalie Stuart Skinner

It became clear that the Oilers needed to discuss ways for standing up for their players especially Stuart Skinner after he was lost to a head injury against the Dallas Stars.
Even Chris Pronger, former Oilers defenseman and NHL legend took to the airwaves with the Ray and Dregs Podcast a few days ago stating that the team needs to find a way to stand up for players and to show that hitting their goaltender and other members of the team will not be tolerated especially during the playoffs.

Perry shows a masterclass in team response during game

Oilers Corey Perry did not take this lightly where he showed the Flames captain Mikael Backlund not to go near Calving Pickard after the whistle.
The reaction occured after the whistle had gone and Backlund snowed Pickard which Evan Bouchard pushed back. Perry decided to break away from the linesman and go straight after backland and threw a couple of shots to his head which led Perry to leave the ice and head to the dressing room.
Perry finished it off with some colourful words towards Backlund which was caught on camera and on mic as he was close to the on ice colour commentator.
Their win over the Flames has them holding 89 points each compared to the Los Angeles Kings who had lost their game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
With nine games remaining in the season, it's likely the Oilers will finish either second or third in the Pacific division as the Golden Knights have run away with the lead.
