According to reports from Oilers reporter Jason Gregor, both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are expected to miss all three games this week.

The Oilers haven't given concrete return timelines for either of their superstars, but have suggested that neither injury is considered major and the team will be cautious managing their return.

Oilers announce McDavid and Draisaitl will miss all three games this week

Earlier this week, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that Leon Draisaitl's may be slightly ahead of McDavid in his return to the lineup.
As of today, it appears likely that Leon Draisaitl's timeline is ahead of Connor McDavid's, and the belief is that Draisaitl may return before McDavid. But I've been warned that McDavid has blown past injury timelines before. No concern about their long-term availability.

Now that both players are ruled out three more games, it looks like a return for McDavid could possibly be pushed to the first week of April.
According to Tony Brar, Knoblauch would only say that both McDavid and Draisaitl are «going to be still a while.»
Leon Draisaitl sustained a minor injury against the Utah Hockey Club, but was able to stay in the game suggesting it was only a minor problem.
Connor McDavid sustained an injury against the Winnipeg Jets after a dirty crosscheck from defenceman Josh Morrissey, and immediately left the game.
It's brutal for the Oilers that both stars will miss even more time with their injuries, but thankfully, it still does not seem to be a longer term concern.

Oilers can look to develop chemistry without McDavid and Draisaitl in lineup

It's unfortunate for the short term that the Oilers won't get McDavid or Draisaitl back this week, but hopefully, the team is just being cautious to fully heal their superstars before the playoffs.
For now, this stretch of games will provide an incredible opportunity for the rest of the team to step up and show how they can elevate their game before the playoffs.
The Oilers desperately need extra scoring without their two superstars, and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins stepped up with a hat trick. Plenty of other supporting players had a great game against Seattle.
They'll have to keep that level of play up, and tread water in the standings to keep home ice advantage in the playoffs as a possibility. It'll be a hard test for the Oilers, but now's the time to step up.
