The Edmonton Oilers and the Philadelphia Flyers, have one word in common as this season continues. Uncertainty. Both teams are in a different stage of development and construction, but rumors are stating they could be trading partners, with the March 3rd trade deadline on the horizon.

Flyers defenseman Ivan Provorov has made it clear that he is not happy being with the Flyers organization and is seeking a change of scenery. The Oilers are weak along the left side of their defense corps and inserting a player like Provorov would bolster their lineup and help their defensive play, at 26 years old Provorov certainly has several good seasons ahead of him, and usually, defensemen develop later on in their career.

Both teams would need to make the money work because Provorov still has two more years left of the term and had a cap hit of $6.75 million. The Flyers are currently looking for players to help them build for the future as they have stated to be in an «Aggressive Retool» according to their general manager Chuck Fletcher.

We will need to see if both teams can make this work and which players would go back to each respective team.
