The scoring machine that is Alex Ovechkin continued to show his skillset and talent after scoring #801 and #802 against the Winnipeg Jets tonight.

The Capitals played at home when Ovechkin passed Gordie Howe for 2nd place in the all-time NHL goal list. The Capitals beat the Jets 4 -1 and when the game ended something incredible happened.

The Winnipeg Jets as a team decided to give the proper respect to OV, they congratulated him one by one and then formed a line to give OV the spotlight.

The big question remains, can OV pass Wayne Gretzky's record of 894 goals before he retires from the NHL? Currently, Ovechkin sits at the age of 37 with no signs of losing steam or stopping, he certainly has a shot at trying to either tie or surpass. I believe he will play as long as possible to try to beat that record.

On another note, I have to say hats off to the Winnipeg Jets for showing true sportsmanship and acknowledging OV's greatness.
