PLAYERS LEFT PRAYING AFTER A TERRIFYING MOMENT BREAKS OUT LAST NIGHT
Sadly, this happened on Friday night as Wilkes-Barre Scarnton Penguins, the AHL affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins, were playing. With only a few minutes left in the third period, a prospect named Filip Hallander was involved in a frightening collision with a player from the other side, which led in Hallander landing on his head and needing to be carried off the ice.
Really scary moment just now in the WBS game. Filip Hallander is upended in the corner and his head takes a lot of the impact. He's being stretchered off the ice. pic.twitter.com/498nrGNuHh— Taylor Haase (@TaylorHaasePGH) January 7, 2023
The moment was quiet, and players were left praying while he was being checked-up on.
Hallander has been taken off the ice via stretcher.
There's still 1:12 left to play in this game, which officials are now discussing with coaches what the next steps are & if this game will resume. pic.twitter.com/MvG8a4CyrN— Tony Androckitis* (@TonyAndrock) January 7, 2023
The league chose to cancel the rest of the game since the injuries and Hallander's condition were significantly more serious than the 1 minute and 12 seconds that were left in the game.
My thoughts are with Filip Hallander of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
After a collision in the corner he fell to ice. Trainers, doctors, and EMS were immediately on the scene. IMO, 100% the correct call by the AHL to end the game with 1:12 left to go in the 3rd.— TJ Chillot 🎙🏒 (@tj_chillot) January 7, 2023

Oilers Eliminate One Defensemen Off Their Trade Radar Due to Breaking Injury News BY SKY Shayne Gostisbehere is a defensemen that has had a love/hate relationship with fans in Arizona and Philadelphia, the defensemen is a VERY offensive-defensemen, meaning there is not much upside to his defensive game aside from the odd play, you can say he's a liability sometimes on the defensive end. |
