BY SKY DECEMBER 12, 2022 (1:25 PM)
The organization has been full of drama regarding their star players J.T Miller and Bo Horvat, insiders revealed the Canucks management does not treat players properly and often ''low balls'' them in hopes for a steal of a new contract, but if you're a star, you are simply going to go take more money elsewhere alongside your talents.
Aside from issues with Horvat and J.T Miller, they also healthy scratched forward Brock Boeser on Hockey Fights Cancer night, Boeser was on a point streak and recently lost his father to cancer, so that game was very important to him, Boeser requested a trade after the game.
The Canucks seem fine paying players until they start performing above their expectations, and deserving a higher salary, but an insider has revealed that's where the Canucks' issues start developing.
NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal of the Canucks has stated that the Canucks made a disrespectful offer towards Horvat, the forward decided to decline the deal and now the organization will be in search for the best offer to trade him away.
It is believed that the offer came in at less than $8M AAV/$64M total.
Horvat, 27, has 20 goals & 29 points through 28 games played this season.
Per Frank Seravalli, there is at least one team in the NHL that is willing to give him $9M AAV in free agency.
