Former Edmonton Oilers defensemen and his family have recently been dealing with a tough time, due to a loss in the family.

was made a healthy scratch the other night by the Vancouver Canucks, many believed a trade was incoming but the real reason surfaced just a day later, the Bear family lost their dog.

Sadly for Ethan and the Bear family they've received a lot of backlash, for Ethan stepping away due to the loss of their dog, a former Toronto radio host laid a heavy take on Ethan, and it's just not right.

Wait. is missing a game in the NHL because his dog died??? The NHL????

I have pets I've lost pets. It's not a spouse or a child. It's the NHL.

If someone's family member died.. they should leave theindefinitely, until they feel they're ready to return. What is your opinion on how much time is appropriate for a player on your favorite team after a pet dies? Just the one game? 2?Indefinitely? How do you define it
