Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolai Ehlers decided to look for anything that would help his team be motivated and turned to an anonymous source of Spittin Chiclets Ryan Whitney saying the Jets are frauds and posted it on their bulletin board.

This comment clearly struck a nerve with the entire team as Ehlers was asked why Mason Appleton stated the team was the hungriest in years. The comment came around March 2nd as Whitney and his fellow Co hosts talked about an unnamed NHL player who told Whitney that The Jets Are Frauds. Even their Co hosts couldn't believe the comment which created a firestorm across the web.

The Jets had put together a fantastic season as thru 82 games they had a record of 52-24-6 for 110 points putting them second in the central division and second in the Western Conference. With the goal differential of plus 60 and winners of their last eight at the end of the season it's safe to say The Jets are the real deal and they will contend in the playoffs.

The team drew one of the tougher opponents in the first round who are the Colorado Avalanche. But recently, the Avalanche have had some troubles especially in goal as their starting goaltender Alexandar Georgiev had been leaky at best and leading to head coach Jared Bednar pleading for help from his goaltender to make a save from time to time.

As their series began, the Jets won their first game and a wild goal fest 7-6.
