It seems these days that NHL players have been more aggressive against others with vicious hits and other acts. The trend continued last night when the Tom Wilsonless Capitals took on the Carolina Hurricanes.

Canes goalie Pyotr Kochetkov decided to give Capitals defenseman John Carlson a wicked kick.

It seemed to be a weird move and Kotchetkov avoided a match penalty but it he may be facing George Parros and the NHL player Safety for supplementary discipline.

These flagrant plays and undisciplined moves have become an epidemic and it's getting out of hand. It may come to a point where the NHL may need to step in and hand out even stiffer fines and longer suspensions to get this under control.

Luckily, Carlson was not injured on the play and the Capitals dodged a bullet as they continue to push for a playoff spot being three points behind the Flyers.
More to come.
